Most pinot noirs from Australia are, like most pinots from Burgundy for that matter, uncompelling. Even when they’re decent, they can be too confected or simply taste like they’re made from some other grape, and that’s a shame. Here’s a good one, with considerable jammy ripeness yet a juicy, dry profile and nuances of herbs and earthy beetroot. Available in Ontario.
