Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is set to return from a broken leg.

Mitchell is listed as the starter for Saturday’s Labour Day rematch against the Elks in Edmonton.

The two-time CFL most outstanding player fractured his fibula in Week 1 of the season.

He came off the six-game injured list and resumed practising last week but was on the one-game list for Monday’s 32-20 loss at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

Rookie Jake Maier has started in place of Mitchell and threw for more than 300 yards in each of his first three CFL starts.

Calgary head coach Dave Dickenson said on Thursday that he wanted to be confident that Mitchell’s leg could take a hit before inserting him in a game.
