Fans searching the secondary market for tickets to World Series games at Truist Park may have been hit with sticker shock.
As of mid-afternoon Monday, the lowest price listed on StubHub, the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace partner of MLB, was US$925 (plus fees) for World Series Game 3, which will be played at the Braves’ stadium Friday night. The prices on StubHub for Games 4 and 5, scheduled for Truist Park on Saturday and Sunday, started at US$920 and US$799 (plus fees), respectively.
Prices on the secondary (resale) market fluctuate frequently, rising or falling depending on supply and demand.
But as of Monday afternoon, the Game 3 ticket offered for US$925 was an upper-level seat above the left-field corner. At the highest price point, a few sellers were seeking more than US$10,000 apiece for lower-level club seats directly behind home plate.
For Braves fans making a trip to Houston for Games 1 and 2 on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, secondary-market ticket prices are lower for those games. As of Monday afternoon, StubHub had tickets for Game 1 at Minute Maid Park starting at US$425 and for Game 2 starting at US$485.
Prices on the secondary market are considerably higher than the face-value prices of tickets bought directly from the teams.
The Braves plan to put an “extremely limited” inventory of tickets on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. EDT Tuesday via their website. The Braves haven’t yet posted single-game prices or available locations for those seats.
But for season-ticket holders who earlier purchased strips of tickets to all postseason games from the Braves, the highest prices for the World Series were US$880 a game for the Truist Club section behind home plate, US$620 for Delta Sky360 Club “chairman” section seats and US$570 for the Delta Sky360 Club “executive” seats.
A “presale” of single-game tickets was held Monday for “Braves A-List” season-ticket members and for fans registered as “Braves Insiders.”
