  1. High Park recalls mislabelled Canaca Blend 19 pre-rolls in Alberta only
  2. Company says voluntary recall and does not pose quality issues
  3. Recall due to mislabelling is 3rd since February

High Park Farms Ltd., a subsidiary of Tilray Inc., has voluntarily recalled one lot of pre-rolls due to a labelling error that sharply understates the product’s THC level.

High Park’s Canaca Blend 19 pre-rolls, lot number E0000405, were sold with labels stating total THC levels at 20.5 mg per unit, rather than the correct amount of 102.5 mg. Per-unit THC levels were also incorrect at 0.3 mg versus the correct value of 1.4 mg, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) said on its website.

“The recall is isolated to Alberta only and was initiated due to a labelling error. There are no quality issues associated with this lot,” a Tilray spokeswoman said.

“High Park Farms Ltd. initiated an internal investigation and concluded the labelling issue arose due to a conversion error and no other pre-roll lots manufactured by High Park Farms are impacted. To date, High Park Farms has not received any complaints or reports of adverse reactions related to the recalled lot.”

This is the third voluntary recall due to mislabelling or incorrect packaging by a licensed producer selling to Alberta since February.

On March 5, Canopy Growth Corp. voluntarily recalled its LBS Sunset whole flower cannabis after misstating THC and CBD levels. One month prior, Aurora Cannabis Enterprises Inc. voluntarily recalled portions of two products due to mismatched labelling on some boxes containing CBD capsule bottles sold in Alberta and its Banana Split dried flower in Quebec.

In early January, Up Cannabis Inc. voluntarily recalled one lot of its Eldo 7 gram dried cannabis due to mould/microbial contaminants.
