The turnover at big gold producers continues, this time at Goldcorp Inc. where the company's head of corporate development has left the company.

Timo Jauristo is no longer with Goldcorp, the company confirmed, saying it is now starting to search for his replacement. Mr. Jauristo was named vice president of corporate development in 2009 and promoted to executive vice president the next year.

Prior to Goldcorp he worked for 15 years at Placer Dome, as well as heading two junior mining companies.

There's one senior gold corporate development executive out there - Rick McCreary, who had been in the role at Barrick Gold. Barrick last month decided to part ways with its corporate development team. Barrick has seen a stream of executives heading out the door as chairman John Thornton puts his stamp on the Toronto-based miner.

Goldcorp spokeswoman Christine Marks said "Mr. Jauristo is leaving Goldcorp to pursue other opportunities. We wish him all the best and thank him for his contributions to Goldcorp.  We have begun a search for Timo's replacement."
