Welcome to the latest in a monthly series of Google+ Hangout interviews with small-business owners and operators from across Canada.

To coincide with our Business of Gaming series, we invited representatives from three video-game companies to talk about the industry and their operations: Albert Lai is the CEO of London, Ont.-based Big Viking Games, Josh Nilson is COO of Vancouver-based East Side Games, and Chris Ye is president of Toronto-based Uken Games.

Report on Small Business editors Katherine Scarrow and Sean Stanleigh lead a discussion on how the Canadian video-game sector stacks up against the rest of the world, how mobile technology led to the emergence of smaller developers, how to attract and retain talent, and the process of building new titles. They also examined unique aspects of operating in different regions of the country.
