It's a privately held Bellevue, Wash.-based webcasting company founded in 1998 that has seen hits on its site double since last summer. But at current page views of about 158,000 a month, worldstream.com is still a well-kept secret

Look for Studio-In-A-Box, an audio/video streaming centre voted "best new internet appliance using rich media" at the June, 2000, MultiMediaCom trade show, in San Jose, Calif. What you need is an electrical outlet, web connection and, oh, exactly $9,999 for the software, and you can webcast your next annual meeting

THE COST

A basic webcast for 500 people can cost about $5,000. Full-service webcasting, where WorldStream creates, videotapes and produces the event for 5,000 people, can go as high as $50,000
