The Miura line was named for a Spanish ranch that breeds some of the fiercest animals in bullfighting. And certainly, the SV is ferocious, topping out at over 280 kilometres per hour. This particular model was a favourite of Frank Sinatra's.

Preston Tucker only produced 51 cars, but each one is legendary. The "Torpedo," as it's known, has a modified Franklin helicopter engine under the hood and a centre-mounted, steerable headlight. The front and back seats can also be swapped to reduce wear.

This V8 was Steve McQueen's "baby." The king of cool gave it the full hot-rod treatment and used it to boot around Beverly Hills. Its registration number--3188--was McQueen's reform school ID number in Chino, California.
