What they got
This bright 880-square-foot, two-bedroom condo in Brentwood Park in North Burnaby is in a 40-year-old building, built by Bosa.
The tower has a park-like landscape, with tennis courts and outdoor pool and is a few blocks from the SkyTrain, shops and schools. The unit has views of Mount Baker and the North Shore mountains, with a large east-facing patio that spans the length of the unit.
Updates in 2018 resulted in a new kitchen, bathroom, flooring, paint and lighting. There is a single parking stall and an on-site caretaker.
The action
The seller sold the property because they were looking to upsize. The buyers were relocating for their retirement. Listing agent Cheryl David received two offers on the property after 14 parties went through it.
“This particular condo had great appeal because the owners had completed a full renovation after purchasing in 2017,” Ms. Davie says.
The agent’s take
Ms. Davie says the levelling off of rate increases gave buyers certainty.
“Buyers seem to have adjusted and are accepting higher interest rates as the new normal,” she says.
“We’ve seen a large increase in buyer activity in the first quarter and we’ve sold all our listings with multiple offers this year. We’re experiencing the same scenario working with buyers in both the condo and townhouse markets.”
The deal completes April 11.
