What they got
This eight-year-old West Vancouver house has panoramic views of the mountains and ocean and sits on a third of an acre in a fully landscaped setting that includes a putting green, pond with waterfall and gazebo with a view of the Lion’s Gate Bridge.
Inside, there are the usual features of a luxury house, including hardwood floors, a wine room, two kitchens, a home theatre, in-floor heating and a charger for the electric vehicle.
The three-level house has 5,700 square feet of living space, including six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a legal rental suite.
The action
The buyers were from Alberta and had been looking for more than a year, says their agent, Michelle Vaughan. They initially didn’t want a steep driveway, but Ms. Vaughan told them that if they wanted a view, it would be hard to avoid.
She said her buyers got “a very fair deal.”
There was some back and forth on the price but overall, the deal went smoothly, she says.
“It wasn’t quite super easy, there was some negotiation. But there was no competition.”
The agent’s take
“The people who built the house were engineers, who did a great, solid-quality build. It’s modern, luxurious and has a gorgeous view, with a crazy cool area in the back,” Ms. Vaughan says. “It’s one of those things that wouldn’t appeal to everybody, but it’s dramatic and gorgeous.”
