LISTING AGENT Alina Kholodov, Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd., Johnston and Daniel Division

The Action: In a high-rise near Yonge and Bloor Streets, units are not generally purchased in a bidding war. This updated, two-bedroom corner suite was a rare exception as it had a handful of bids, including a top price of $970,000 in early spring.

"The corner units in particular don't come up that often, but when they do, they sell quite well," agent Alina Kholodov says. "I sold the last two units with identical layouts in the building, but they didn't sell as quickly [as this unit] because they hadn't been renovated."

What They Got: A previous owner gave this 1,025-square-foot unit a high-end makeover, so it features white-oak flooring, custom lighting and integrated audio system throughout, as well as a galley-like kitchen with Calacatta marble counters, Bosch and Sub-Zero appliances.

Sleeping quarters and bathrooms lie on opposite sides of a living and dining area with large windows and sliding balcony doors.

Conveniences include laundry facilities, a locker and parking. Monthly fees of $816 pay for utilities, 24-hour concierge, rooftop deck, fitness and games rooms.

The Agent's Take: "Because of all the other condos that came up surrounding it in the past five years, the values have gone up quite a bit, so whoever bought into this building did well investment-wise," Ms. Kholodov says.

"And units with the southwest views do better because it's kind of isolated and has a much quieter exposure, so you're not getting any of the Bloor Street noise."

This well situated detached home drew a lot of interest and sold in 8 days for $1,560,000.
