Ontario PC and NDP react to stay of ruling that had derailed plan to cut Toronto council

Ontario Government House Leader Todd Smith and NDP Leader Andrew Horwath react after the Ontario Court of Appeal sided with Premier Doug Ford, granting a stay of a lower-court decision that declared his mid-election move to cut Toronto’s city council almost in half to be unconstitutional. As a result the municipal election is expected to go ahead in late October with 25 wards, down from 47.
