Professor Strickland, your research has changed my life. I received laser treatment on my eye with the flashes of light. It was painless, the work was done in my eye doctor’s office and had me driving again the same day. Thank you for your enormous contribution to making our lives better. - From the Vault of Doug Ault

Congrats Dr. Strickland. I hope you inspire more women to enter physics and the sciences in general. - WillHop

Congratulations, Dr. Strickland -- very impressive! Let's work to see more women and more Canadians recognized for their contributions to physics. - Heliossett

Congrats to Dr. Strickland! Indeed I am a bit puzzled she still remains an associate professor (at age 59) after all these decades of research and teaching at the University of Waterloo. Talk about gender gaps in academic promotion. I am not sure if the University of Waterloo is now 'a bit embarrassed' by her win. - hikeith

What an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations Dr Strickland. You will be the only University of Waterloo faculty member with that honour. Go ask for a raise! - CGBe
