A 37-year-old Toronto man appeared in court Thursday accused of sexually abusing two young girls in Etobicoke, aged seven and 15, and showing them pornography.
Eduardo Mendoza Arevalo faces multiple charges that include making sexually explicit materials available to a child under 14, exposing himself to a person under the age of 16, sexual interference and sexual assault.
Police said in a news release the alleged attacks took place near Islington Avenue and the Gardiner Expressway.
In one instance, it's alleged, Mr. Arevalo rented the basement of a home belonging to a family friend whose seven-year-old daughter was subsequently one of his victims.
He's also accused of abusing a 15-year-old girl who lived on the same street.
In both cases, he is alleged to have shown the two children pornographic images before assaulting them.
Detective suspect there are additional victims, and are asking that anyone with information about Mr. Arevalo contact them.
