The Toronto police sex-crimes unit is investigating an incident Tuesday afternoon in which a young girl was accosted by a man in the washroom of her west-side elementary school.
The incident took place at Portage Trail Community Junior School on Sidney Belsey Crescent, near Weston Road.
Police said the child was in the washroom at around 2 p.m. when she was grabbed by the man, causing her to fall. Her assailant then fled. The girl got to her feet and ran to a nearby classroom.
Detectives are reviewing closed-circuit video footage in efforts to identify the man.
He is described as white, approximately 30 years, tall with a skinny build, full beard and thick moustache. He was wearing a black toque, black sweater, black shoes with blue stitching, and was carrying a black satchel.
