Early-morning raids Wednesday by Waterloo Regional Police and six other Southern Ontario police services  have led to numerous arrests and the seizure of drugs, guns, cash, explosives and stolen property.

In all, 21 search warrants were executed in Bruce County, Grey County, Kingston, Toronto, Waterloo Region and Wellington County.

Officers from Ontario Provincial Police, Guelph Police Service, Halton Regional Police Service, Hamilton Police Service, Kingston Police Service and the Toronto Police Service took part in the sweep.

The investigation focused on the production, distribution and sale of illicit drugs, Waterloo police said, without specifying the drugs or the scale of the alleged operation.
