An elderly couple was found unharmed Wednesday at a convenience store in Nova Scotia, shortly after police said their daughter was concerned her parents had been missing since they went shopping on Boxing Day.

"They just didn't tell their daughter where they were going," said Constable Preston Burns. "They weren't lost, they were just inconsiderate."

The Springfield convenience store was only about 10 minutes from their home, closer than where they had gone to shop on Boxing Day in Bridgewater.

The couple, 80-year-old Marjorie Cool and 74-year-old Wayne Sharp, were recognized at the store only about half an hour after police released the information to a local radio station, Constable Burns said.

Police had said there were no accidents on the nearby highway and had asked the public to look out for the couple and their silver Ford Windstar.

"Their daughter called and they're home," Constable Burns said.
