All three passengers who were injured in the crash-landing of a small plane at Gander International Airport have been released from hospital, officials said Thursday, and investigators were on their way to the site.
Air Canada Express flight AC7804, a Beechcraft 1900 operated by EVAS Air, was flying from Goose Bay to Gander, N.L., on Wednesday night when it crash-landed at about 9:30 p.m., the airline said.
Three passengers sustained unspecified injuries and were taken to hospital. The three have now all been released, Air Canada said. The plane was carrying 11 other passengers and two crew members, all of whom were put up at a local hotel for the night.
Air Canada said the plane's landing gear was damaged upon landing, according to initial reports.
The incident happened during a spring snowstorm that hit eastern and central Newfoundland on Wednesday.
"The winds were high. It was blowing snow," said RCMP Staff Sergeant Roger Flynn of the Gander detachment.
Air Canada said EVAS Air would be cooperating with the Transportation Safety Board investigation.
