The product
Tweezerman Professional Super Curl Eyelash Curler ($6.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart, http://www.shoppersdrugmart.com).
The promise
"An amazing super curl."
How it works
The secret weapon is heat. Yes, heat. Near your eye. You warm up the white silicone strip "gently" with a blow dryer.
How to use it
After the blow-dryer blast, you line it up with the bottom of your lashes, squeeze and hold for a few seconds. For best results, squeeze mid-lash and near the tips as well.
The results
This strange little gizmo did an excellent job of bending our lashes - slightly more so than conventional curlers. And the "patented, no-pinch design" lived up to the hype.
The bottom line
We have no argument with the curling power of this product.
But we do have some issues.
Although the curler is made of plastic, and not the regular heat-inducing metal - thank goodness - it does heat up. Which means you end up pressing something warm right against your eyelid, which is disconcerting to say the least. It's also time-consuming and a hassle to drag out the blow dryer for what should be a quick beauty fix. Ladies, it's up to you: Just how badly do you need to bat your lashes?
