PERSON: ROSEANNE

Given the resurgence of everything nineties in fashion, it makes sense that Roseanne Barr, the feisty star of TV's Roseanne, has become a bona fide style icon.

One of our favourite new online haunts, the blog thirdanddelaware.tumblr.com, pays tribute to the outfits of the big R and her co-stars.

We haven't seen this much acid-washed denim and plaid flannel since our last trip to American Apparel.

PLACE: OTTAWA

Ottawa has never been synonymous with style, but tell that to the talent behind Ottawa Fashion Week, which ends tonight after a four-day strut through the Arts Court building in the city centre.

One of our favourite discoveries is O-town designer Rachel Sin ( www.rachelsin.com) and the sleek separates she produces when she's not at her day job as an architect.

They're perfect for the capital's trademark sartorial pastime: power dressing.

THING: GRASS

Lest you think we've gone all Harold and Kumar, we actually mean real grass, as in the stuff that pokes up through cracks in the sidewalk. And since it's becoming increasingly hard to spot, it makes sense to bring it home.

Grassland, a German design firm, offers installations and accents, including the lamp shade above, featuring real grass.

A grass lampshade? Whoa, dude, that's like tooootally mindblowing.
