PERSON: MANDY MOORE

We're fans of Mandy Moore. Not because of her singing or acting, but because she seems like a nice, reasonably talented young woman who knows her place in the world and isn't afraid to hang out there wearing jeans larger than a size 0. So it's not surprising that while many starlets are busy shilling for alcoholic beverages or trashy togs, Moore is spending her time promoting uPumpItUp.com, a website sponsored by Crystal Light that challenges women to "truly better themselves." Suggested activities include "host a retro cocktail party," "create your own designer necklace" and "learn a new dance style." Hmm ... maybe one little scandal wouldn't hurt.

PLACE: RELEVANT CHURCH, YBOR CITY, FLA.

Well, this is one way to get people to go to church. Pastor Paul Wirth of the Relevant Church has given his flock to a 30-day sex challenge. If you're married, you do it every day for 30 days. If you're single, you go without nookie for a month. His aim: reduce divorce rates. Participants can download a challenge guide and blog about their experiences ( http://www.relevantchurch.com). Bible study has never been so hot.

THING: NIKE TRASH TALK

Kudos to Canadian Steve Nash for wearing garbage onto the basketball court. No, he wasn't shooting hoops in a Hefty bag. He recently teamed with Nike to create the Trash Talk, a shoe made out of factory scraps and "environmentally preferred" rubber. Nash is wearing the shoes during Phoenix Suns games, and a limited number will be available for fans.
