City of Vancouver parking enforcement officer Rosalie, who for security reasons can only give her first name, says those in her line of work are 'not the most popular people' and she can feel a bit like a 'social pariah.' As much as Rosalie likes working along the waterfront, she often has to work in areas such as the lower Eastside, where on hot summer days the smell gets pretty unappealing, or Yaletown, where she runs into a lot of people who are upset to see her. One of the greatest benefits of her job is the fresh air and exercise."I walk a lot, I cover a lot of ground, so I get a lot better workout than I ever would going to the gym."
