Person: Liam Gallagher
Look out Tom Ford, here comes … Liam Gallagher? Yes, the onetime Oasis singer is playing designer for the new clothing line Pretty Green.
"I'm not here to rip anyone off and I'm not doing it for the money," Gallagher says with typical candour on the brand's website, prettygreen.com, which features him modelling the wares and doing his best Zoolander faces.
Does the world need a Gallagher clothing line? Probably not. But it just may keep him busy enough to stop fighting with his brother.
Place: Payless Shoes
Hold on to your Airwalks, kids. Payless Shoe Source, that cheap and cheerful footwear retailer of our mall-obsessed youth, is branching out into beauty, it was announced this week.
Starting this September, 1,500 of the chain's North American stores will sell Payless's own original cosmetics brands, mysteriously dubbed 'Zoe & Zac' and 'Unforgettable Moments.'
Oh yeah. Because everyone wants to remember their first time buying lipgloss at the same place they bought their knockoff Crocs.
Thing: Prêt-à-porTea
Just when you thought tea couldn't get any classier, German design firm Donkey Products has come up with tea bags that make it look like bigwigs from Barack Obama to Karl Lagerfeld (above) are taking a dip in your cup.
Each set includes five different bags on a specific theme, such as world leaders or famous artists; Prêt-à-porTea focuses on fashion designers.
"A dream becomes true," the company says. "A hot bath with a character of your choice!"
We imagine a Twilight set is being produced as we speak.
