After marrying his high-school sweetheart last summer, Ryan Cohen and his wife chose as their marital home an ultra-thin townhouse located within walking distance of Toronto's Rosedale neighbourhood, which he asked his sister, interior designer Stacey Cohen, to decorate. Given the narrow dimensions of the 12-by-14-foot property, the challenge was creating a living space that could do double duty as an entertaining hub for friends and clients of of the newly launched fashion-accessories business, Yo Sox, of which he is director. Creating a circular seating area in the living room using differently styled chairs in addition to a custom-made L-shaped was a creative solution that truly maximizes the small space. "It's a great place to come to at the end of the day," says Ryan of his favourite room. "It's made for a circle of family and friends."
