wine review

An uncommon wine (and all praise to that) for the connoisseur or enthusiast who appreciates the lighter side of red. Not all Sancerres are made from sauvignon blanc; they grow pinot noir in the Loire Valley as well. This is as delicate a pinot as you'll find, very dry and hinting at raspberry, damp earth, smoke and the classic herbaceousness of more familiar Loire reds based on cabernet franc. Caveat: It's subtle. Resist judging it upon first sip; wait for it to grow on you. Available in Ontario.
