wine review

Full-bodied and sturdy, this is a Bordeaux-style red that would vanquish most reds of similar price from the actual French region of Bordeaux. Based on cabernet sauvignon, with small proportions of carménère and old-vines carignan, it’s slightly grainy, with lively tang and succulent cherry-like fruit, underbrush and leather. Impressive structure. Worth cellaring for 15 years, easily. Available online in Ontario at vintagesshoponline.com, various prices in Alberta.
