The question
What are the best summer wardrobe colours for a pale-faced, dark-haired person who doesn't want to look like Morticia Addams?"
The answer
If you noticed our fashion feature a few weeks back, you would have picked up on the trend this year towards darker, moodier tones for summer. So while the look isn't necessarily Morticia Addams – those long, flared dresses don't exactly scream summer barbecue – you might want to consider navy, which is gentler against pale skin and is arguably the most universally flattering colour of all.
Where you fall along the rosy or yellow end of the complexion spectrum will determine whether you can wear pink and violet or tangerine and citrus hues, respectively. Basically, think of your skin as a lighter version of the colour family you can wear. If you're not sure, ask someone at a makeup counter (and don't let them sell you self-tanner).
