Person Charlie Chaplin

Charlie Chaplin was always the strong, silent type. Now, more than 30 years after his death, the mustachioed silent-film hero is causing a quiet revolution on the runway.

Last week, John Galliano's spring/summer 2011 show in Paris paid tribute to the Little Tramp via paper-bag pants, bowler hats and pale face makeup.

You know what they say: A mime is a terrible thing to waste.

Place China

If, for some crazy reason, you're sick of seeing sweaty, chiselled men playing soccer, perhaps we can interest you in this: China's International Humanoid Robot Olympic Games - catchy! - features robots passing the ball around.

Held at the Harbin Institute of Technology, the "team" from China bested others from the U.S. and South Korea.

But without a shirtless Ronaldo, is there really a winner at all?

Thing Reusable Bags

That reusable all-purpose bag you tote around may help the planet, but a new study says that it's likely full of bacteria if you've never taken the time to wash it.

Arizona researchers tested dozens of bags from various U.S. cities and found that just over half were contaminated with bacteria, including E. coli.

The moral of the story? Keep it clean. Chicken is chicken and gym shoes are gym shoes and never the two shall meet.
