Laurentian Bank names veteran executive Robert Ouellette to board of directors
MONTREAL — Laurentian Bank of Canada says veteran executive Robert Ouellette is joining its board of directors as a new independent director.
The bank says the appointment is part of the board's commitment to ongoing renewal to improve its overall effectiveness.
Ouellette has held several senior executive positions in industries such as financial services, engineering and professional services and technology.
The addition of Ouellette comes after Laurentian announced in February the appointment of three new members to its board of directors including Johanne Brunet, Jamey Hubbs and Paul Stinis.
Last year, Laurentian Bank appointed Éric Provost as president and chief executive in a change that saw the departure of chief executive Rania Llewellyn and resignation of board chair Michael Mueller.
The bank also put itself up for sale last year in a review of its strategic options, but failed to find a suitable buyer.
