From November 15th to 18th, the “Green Intelligence, New Quality Future” themed 2nd China Marine Equipment Expo (CMEE) will commence in Fuzhou. This year, CMEE will gather thousands of leading marine enterprises, universities, and research institutes to collaborate in connecting global advantageous resources and jointly showcasing the latest trends in the world's marine technology and equipment industry. Comparably, this year CMEE will place a greater emphasis on international exchanges and cooperation, deepen the “Blue Partnership” cooperation network, a greater focus on leading technologies in the marine equipment sector, aiming to promote the transformation of achievements, and enhancing industrial penetration, while placing greater emphasis on the development of marine culture, fostering the cohesion needed to build a maritime hub city. With goals in mind, here are the seven major highlights to be presented:
Highlight 1: Deepening International Cooperation and Expanding the "Blue Partnership" Network.
In terms of participating enterprises, the exhibition will engage closely with major maritime nations worldwide, inviting nearly 60 international brand exhibitors. These include renowned companies such as Shell, Wärtsilä, Chevron, Accelleron (formerly ABB), Weingärtner, Burckhardt, VEM China, Eutelsat, the American Bureau of Shipping, RINA (Registro Italiano Navale), and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, all showcasing forward-looking products.
For international promotion, the organizing committee has actively participated in well-known international industry events, such as the SMM Hamburg, to promote the exhibition and invite overseas buyers. We have also partnered with international news and industry media, including France's Daily News, Germany's Business News, Japan's Metropolitan News, South Korea Journals, and North America's Marine Business World. These efforts, combined with diverse promotional strategies, aim to increase the international exposure and influence of CMEE.
Highlight 2: Focusing on Specialized and Innovative Enterprises, Showcasing New Marine Productivity.
This year, CMEE will cover an area of 100,000 square meters, with a significant increase in the participation of high-quality and key domestic exhibitors, actively highlighting the new face of marine productivity. Among the exhibitors are over 10 central enterprises, including PetroChina, China National Nuclear Corporation, China General Nuclear Power Group, China Three Gorges Corporation, Dongfang Electric, Huadian Heavy Industries, CRRC Corporation, China National Machinery Industry Corporation, Norinco, China National Building Material, China Certification & Inspection Group, and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. Additionally, Fortune 500 companies such as CATL, BYD, NISCO, XCMG, Industrial Bank, and Ping An Insurance will also participate. A wide array of advanced technologies and equipment, including green power, green materials, green processes, intelligent technology, smart ships, unmanned systems, and underwater robots will also be showcased.
Highlight 3: Addressing Key Issues and Challenges, Exploring Innovative Ideas for Industry Development.
During the exhibition, nearly 30 professional, high-quality, and diverse specialized forums in related industrial and technical fields will be held. These include the Shipbuilding Industry Sustainable Development (ESG) Forum, the Smart Ocean Industry Development Forum, the Shipbuilding Digital Process Empowerment Forum, the Marine Green Materials Industry Development and Cooperation Forum, the Marine Culture and Tourism Innovation Development Forum, and the Shipbuilding Industry Energy Management Forum.
One of the key events will be the first "2024 China Shipbuilding Industry Annual Conference", jointly organized by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry and the 714th Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation. This conference will feature a main forum and several specialized forums, focusing on policy interpretation, industry development, and technological trends. It aims to offer new insights, experiences, and strategies to fully develop new marine productivity and promote high-quality development of the shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment industries.
Additionally, the exhibition will witness the first release of the "Blue Book of the Development of the Shipbuilding Industry“, which will provide an in-depth analysis of the current state of the industry, explore technological innovations, discuss policy implementation, and interpret market trends. The Blue Book aims to guide enterprise development, offer valuable material for academic research, and serve as a window for the public to better understand the shipbuilding industry.
Highlight 4: Introducing the First Guest of Honor, Fostering Cooperation and Delivering Tangible Results.
For the first time, this year's CMEE will feature a Guest of Honor Country (Norway) and a Guest of Honor Province (Shandong Province). This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Norway and China. The Norway Pavilion will showcase prominent Norwegian maritime companies and organizations including Kongsberg, Oglaend System, Fearney Offshore Supply, DSD Group, DNV, and Ulstein, representing the strength of Norway's maritime industry.
Shandong Province will organize enterprises from the fields of marine equipment manufacturing, technology research and development, and services to actively participate, demonstrating the latest achievements and technological innovations in the province’s marine economy.
In addition to the exhibitions, this year’s CMEE will also actively engage both the Guest of Honor Country and Province in various meetings and activities during the event, further highlighting key outcomes of international cooperation and openness.
Highlight 5: Leveraging Maritime Advantages, Creating the "Fujian Window" at CMEE.
CMEE will feature a "Fujian Marine Equipment Industry Chain Pavilion" (Fujian Pavilion), which includes four key exhibition areas: the Electric Ships Industry Chain, Offshore Wind Power, Offshore Engineering Equipment, and Deep-Sea Aquaculture. The exhibition space has expanded to 9,000 square meters this year, with an added area for new product launches, where industry peers and partners will jointly explore future trends in the maritime industry.
The Electric Ships Industrial Chain section is led by the first-time participants CATL and Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group, showcasing the structure and technological innovations of Fujian’s electric ship industry chain. The Offshore Wind Power section is organized by China Three Gorges Corporation, bringing together enterprises from the wind power industry park. The Offshore Engineering Equipment section is led by Luoyuan County of Fuzhou, showcasing Fujian’s offshore engineering equipment enterprises. The Deep-Sea Aquaculture section is organized by Lianjiang County of Fuzhou, bringing together relevant enterprises in this field.
Notably, the Fujian Pavilion will draw on the rich heritage of the historic Fuzhou Shipyard School, inviting industry experts, scholars, and alumni to discuss marine equipment education and innovation, injecting fresh blood and wisdom into the development of the industry.
Highlight 6: Preserving Marine Culture, Introducing the First-Ever Shipbuilding History Cultural Corridor.
For the first time, CMEE will feature a "Shipbuilding History Cultural Corridor", showcasing the "Shipbuilding Volume of the History of China's Industry". This exhibit will reflect the development of China’s shipbuilding industry during various historical periods, highlighting its overall productivity and significant impact on modern society. Through this exhibition, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the development of the shipbuilding industry. The interactive experience and cultural heritage in the corridor are designed to inspire interest and passion for marine technology, encouraging collective efforts to advance the continuous development of China’s marine equipment industry.
Highlight 7: A Gathering of Yachts on the Minjiang River, Showcasing New Trends in Marine Leisure.
The High-End Lifestyle and Yacht Equipment Exhibition Area, located at the Guancheng Datong Marina, brings together well-known domestic and international yacht brands, agents, and upstream and downstream industry partners in the yacht sector. Over 40 yachts will be on display, along with more than 30 Fuzhou-based cultural brands that focus on lifestyle and creativity associated with yachting. The area will feature a variety of carefully planned water sports experiences, offering exclusive VIP privileges at CMEE, and creating a unique "Yacht Life Carnival" in the prosperous city of Fuzhou. This event presents an international yachting culture to both domestic and international guests as well as local Fuzhou residents. It aligns with the "Maritime Fuzhou" strategy, adding a new highlight to Fuzhou's development as an international city.
