These returns are a bit distorted because calls on The Carlyle Group (CG)  were called at a loss on the stock trade but a gain after accounting for collected dividends and options premiums, as explained in Update #2.

Since Update #2 was published on Sept. 19, the covered calls trades on Intuitive Surgical Inc. (ISRG)  and Proctor & Gamble Co. (PG)  were rolled into Sept. 29 expiration trades. They’ll be rolled again next week after these trades expire.

Like a lot of stocks, my stocks are having a rough time as the Federal Reserve Board fights inflation. The markets are correcting as expected after the recent rally, and the UAW union’s strikes against Detroit’s big three auto makers are hurting a lot of consumers and businesses. That President Biden and Congress are on the verge of shutting the government down for a few weeks is another negative variable.

Meanwhile, we’ll continue to trade covered calls and cash secured puts for options premiums income while we collect dividends on these and other investments. Whether there will be a year end rally remains to be seen.
