The Canadian dollar CADUSD weakened against the greenback on Monday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped. The loonie was trading 0.1% lower at C$1.3277 to the greenback, or 75.32 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3269 to 1.3304. Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 5.1 basis points to 3.523%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 4.0057%. U.S. August crude futures fell 87 cents to settle at $72.99 a barrel on Monday. The value of building permits in Canada rose 10.5% in May, Statistics Canada said.
