On June 5, The Globe and Mail hosted an evening of learning and networking in Toronto, focused on the biggest changes and shifts in wealth management. The event was broadcast to a national audience on June 20.

Pablo Fuchs, editor of Globe Advisor with The Globe and Mail opened the event, before handing off to Karin Kirkwood, president of Broadridge Canada, who set the stage for the program with insights on key changes and developments in the industry.
An interview followed, featuring Deanne Gage, reporter with Globe Advisor at The Globe and Mail, in conversation with Charles Smith, partner, wealth and asset management consulting with EY. Mr. Smith, based in New York, shared wealth management trends developing in both the U.S. and Canada, and reflected on the role of AI, generational differences, and evolving customer needs.
Following the interview Mr. Fuchs returned to the stage to host a panel of wealth management executives and technology experts. The group shared views on how these trends are translating at their own organizations. They also reflected on strategies to attract and retain advisors, adopt new technologies and keep pace with shifting regulations. The panel included:
- Jacqui Allard, group head of global wealth management with Scotiabank.
- Rowena Chan, president of Sun Life Financial Distributors (Canada) Inc., and senior vice-president of retail advice and solutions.
- Tim Evans, chief operating officer, wealth management with Canada, Canaccord Genuity Corp.
- Chris Perry, president of Broadridge.
