How are Canadian corporations measuring up on net zero? On Monday, May 27 The Globe and Mail hosted our second annual Road to Net Zero event, focused on climate progress and priorities for business. Executive leaders and industry specialists provided tactics and advice for reducing regulatory risk and capturing new opportunities.
Editor of Report on Business Magazine, Dawn Calleja, opened the event and introduced the day’s opening presentation, given by Clark Barr, Global Head of ESG Methodologies at Morningstar Sustainalytics. Clark’s presentation covered executive leadership on the path to net zero among Canada’s largest public companies.
Next, Ryan MacDonald, senior editor of climate, environment and resources at The Globe and Mail interviewed Michael Torrance, Chief Sustainability Officer at BMO Financial Group. Michael reflected on the changing landscape of ESG reporting.
Globe and Mail institutional investing reporter, James Bradshaw then interviewed Barbara Zvan, president and CEO of University Pension Plan, on the role of institutional investors in emissions reduction.
