Nunavut’s health system falls short in caring for mothers and babies

The closure of the Rankin Inlet Birthing Centre and a smaller centre in Cambridge Bay mean that, outside of Baffin Island, Nunavut woman have worse access to birthing services today than in the recent past. At a gathering run by Ilitaqsiniq, the Nunavut Literacy Council, women share stories of giving birth far from their homes and families.
