A 46-year-old man has been injured in a shooting in Vancouver’s downtown core, the second such incident in the area in less than a week.
Vancouver police say officers responded to reports of shots fired at around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, and found the man suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the man was taken to hospital, and what happened between the shooter and the victim leading up to the shooting is still “being confirmed.”
The case follows another shooting in downtown Vancouver last Saturday where gunmen fired shots at a vehicle on a city street.
No one was hurt in that attack, which police say was targeted.
No arrests have been made in either shooting.
Police say early investigations show there is “no reason to believe” the latest shooting was related to the weekend incident, ongoing gang conflicts or any other “serious investigations going on” in Vancouver.
