Toronto police say an officer was rushed to hospital after they were slashed in the arm.

Police say the officer responded just before 1:15 p.m. to, “a person in crisis.”

In a brief update on social media, police say it happened in the area of Spadina Road and Dupont Street.

Police say the officer was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A woman was arrested at the scene.

Police did not immediately release any further details but say updates will follow.
