A possible Salmonella contamination has prompted Morgan Williams International Inc. to recall Mr. Porky brand Original Scratchings.

The recall covers 65g packages sold across the country with best before dates up to and including Feb. 19, 2022.

No illnesses have been reported, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the recall was triggered by a recall in another country.

The agency is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.

Salmonella poisoning can result in a wide range of symptoms, from short-term fever, headache and nausea to more serious issues including severe arthritis and, in rare cases, even death.
