Please know the risks you’re taking to inform the outside world are deeply appreciated. We all rely on unbelievably courageous journalists like you. The more the wider world knows, the less the power-mongers can hide. - Finchbird

Thank you for this report. Makes me glad to support independent and investigative journalism. I wish our government had the courage to support human rights. The moral cost if we don’t outweighs the financial cost of going along to get along. - r2smyth

This is very insightful reporting that clearly comes with very significant risks from Chinese State security. Well done, Nathan. - ChuckT

From: Globe editorial: Angela Merkel, the anti-Trump, is the kind of leader we need more than ever

I am huge fan of hers, but the sad reality is politicians tend to overstay their welcome; they start to see themselves as indispensable. They are also bad at grooming successors, tending to see them as rivals and driving them out. - Just call me Nemo

Angela Merkel will be sadly missed, as she was a reasonable, fair-minded and practical leader who did what she thought best for Germany, Europe and world order. The rise of the far right in Germany and elsewhere in the world is a bad omen and people who believe in truth, justice, co-operation and equality are saddened by the prospect of regressive policies, which will lead to more conflict and oppression. - River City

Merkel did a lot of good things for Germany. It is a real shame that her legacy will be remembered for her gross miscalculation on the refugee/immigrant issue. - HabFan410

Angela Merkel is an example of the extreme opposite of Trump. She has generally been a good leader of Germany but her economic & immigration policies have done major damage to Europe. If she has managed these things differently Brexit would probably not have happened. - BC Thoughts
