Several telecommunications companies are investigating wireless service issues that left scores of Ontarians complaining about outages on social media Thursday afternoon.

Bell spokesperson Vanessa Damha says in an email to The Canadian Press that some customers in parts of Eastern Ontario and Quebec experienced brief service disruptions.

Damha says service has now been restored, but Bell is continuing to investigate the cause.

Earlier Thursday, Telus Corp. released a statement on Twitter, saying it was aware of a wireless issue.

Telus said the issue was impacting several carriers in eastern Canada, but did not offer specifics.

Telus said its team is investigating the matter and services will be restored as quickly as possible.
