Chris Couture, FCPA, to the Board of Directors, The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance CompanySupplied

The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa) is pleased to announce that Chris Couture, FCPA, has been appointed to the Board of Directors, effective August 25, 2022.

Ms. Couture is a recognized leader in the Canadian financial sector. During her 37-year career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), she served as PwC National Insurance Leader, where she led the Canadian insurance practice for the firm, as well as was Lead Audit Partner on multiple Canadian and international financial services firms. As Co-Chair of the Global Public Policy Committee - Insurance Working Group, she led a multi-firm global committee on the role of audit firms in identifying and addressing key risks facing the insurance industry.

Ms. Couture’s governance experience is also extensive. She has served as Chair of the PwC Canadian Partnership Board and Chair of the Partner Affairs Committee and Senior Management Evaluation Committee of the PwC Board. Her governance experience also extends to the non-profit sector, including as a member of the Board of the Toronto Arts Foundation, Chair of the Manitoba Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and Chair of the Winnipeg Grace General Hospital. In 2020, she was the recipient of the University of Manitoba Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement.
