I've been a business journalist at the Globe since October, 2001. I started off at the Victoria Times Colonist, where I covered car crashes, shootings and illegal migrants. At the Globe, I began as a breaking news reporter at the fledgling globeandmail.com.
For the last 14 years, Iโve been The Globeโs personal finance editor, overseeing all of our money-related coverage - from setting up family finances to managing debt, from starting to invest to mortgages and also saving for retirement. In 2015, I created the Gen Y money hub, which won an international EPPY award for excellence in digital journalism. In 2020, I along with my colleague, launched Stress Test, a podcast geared towards helping young Canadians struggling amid the global pandemic. Iโm passionate about financial literacy, especially among young people, and I'd love to help arm them with the tools they need to make smart financial decisions. Iโm also interested in helping women, who will on average live longer and earn less than men, educate themselves on how to get their finances in order.Years at The Globe and Mail
