Working for twenty-plus years as a photojournalist has allowed me to see and experience much of this country and the world.
But photojournalism can, and should be done anywhere and everywhere. In itโs simplest form my job is about storytelling, and there are people and stories right here in our own backyards that are as important and as compelling as many international stories.
Much of our work in this industry revolves around single images, but what I enjoy most are the opportunities to spend prolonged periods of time working on stories โ especially those that are not being covered by the mainstream media.
Every day, on every assignment, I try to make the strongest images I can โ to convey with accuracy and honesty the stories that should be told.
