I write about the politics and policy that shape life in Alberta.
Justin Giovannetti is The Globe and Mail’s Alberta Reporter, based out of Calgary. He returned to the west after chronicling the rise of Premier Doug Ford as the Ontario legislative reporter, based at Queen's Park in Toronto. Before that he worked in the newspaper’s Edmonton bureau, where he covered the arrival of Rachel Notley's New Democrats and the downturn in Alberta's oil patch. He has also been based in the Globe's B.C. and Toronto offices where he worked as a national reporter. His work has been recognized by an investigative award from the Canadian Association of Journalism and the Digital Publishing Awards. He began his career in Montreal working for CTV.
