Emily Fagan

Emily Fagan is a freelance journalist and a former content editor at The Globe and Mail. She also works as an associate producer and reporter for CBC Radio. Her work has been published in the Washington Post, the Narwhal and Vice, among other publications. She reports on a wide range of subjects, but her passion lies in covering equity, housing, health, and social issues.

Previously, she created and wrote Capital Daily’s Good Newsletter, a weekly newsletter focused on uplifting community news, local changemakers and mutual aid across Vancouver Island. For her work at Capital Daily, she was a finalist for a Canadian Association of Journalists award and she won a silver Canadian Online Publishing Award.

Emily graduated with a bachelor of arts from the University of Victoria. She spent much of her time at university in the Martlet student newspaper offices, where she discovered her love of journalism working first as a staff writer and later as editor-in-chief.
