David Ebner is The Globe and Mail’s justice reporter. He covers the Supreme Court of Canada and writes stories of justice and injustice across the country. He is based in Vancouver. He joined The Globe in 2000 and worked in Toronto and Calgary before moving to Vancouver in 2008. He’s reported a wide range of stories – business, sports, politics, arts, crime – and in 2019 joined The Globe’s editorial board. He won the 2021 National Newspaper Award for editorial writing for pieces on climate and housing. He was also an NNA finalist in sports in 2012 for his feature writing.
David was born in Ottawa, grew up in Calgary, and graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa.
