Chen Wang joined The Globe and Mail's visual journalism team in 2018 and has been working as a data journalist ever since. Splitting her time between daily news and long-term investigations, Chen incorporates data-driven storytelling and visualization into all of her work across a wide range of topics. Chen was part of a group at the Globe that tracked COVID-19 data daily and supported coverage of the pandemic. She also co-authored an investigative series on gender inequality in the Canadian workplace, which was nominated for two international Online Journalism Awards in 2021. In 2019, she was part of a team that won a National Newspaper Award in Business Reporting for an investigation into inactive oil and gas wells in Western Canada.
