Before joining The Globe, Chantelle reported for The Press Democrat, the California North Bay’s Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper. While there, she covered many major breaking news stories, ranging from wildfires to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, she graduated with honours from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was the managing editor of The Daily Californian, the student newspaper and paper of record for the city of Berkeley. Chantelle also spent a summer interning at NPR Weekend Edition. After reporting in the United States for the last few years, Chantelle is looking forward to reporting in her hometown of Toronto for The Globe. When she’s not in the newsroom, she can be found curled up with a coffee and a book.
