The Arcade Fire have announced North American tour dates in support of their new album Reflektor.
The tour kicks off March 6 in Louisville, Ky., and ends in their hometown of Montreal on Aug. 30 at Parc Jean-Drapeau, a show which will surely make for an epic finale after half a year on the road.
In between they will stop off in Toronto (March 13, Air Canada Centre), Ottawa (March 14, Canadian Tire Centre), Edmonton (Aug. 11, Rexall Place), Calgary (Aug. 12, Scotiabank Saddledome), and Winnipeg (Aug. 14, MTS Centre). Yes, the Arcade Fire have graduated to arena-rock status, including a two-night stand at the Barclays Center in the hipster epicentre of Brooklyn, N.Y. Congratulations!
Conspicuous by its absence is the lack of a date at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. The elaborate design of the tour announcement page makes it seem like this wasn't a simple oversight. Seattle (Aug. 8, Gorge Amphitheatre) is not that far away, right?
Arcadefire.com states tickets will go on sale Nov. 22.
