Little Mei (Catherine Chan) is a 12-year old math whiz deployed by the Chinese mob as a human computer, memorizing very large numbers that open a very lucrative safe.
Big Luke (Jason Statham) is an ex-cage fighter driven to suicidal despair by the Russian mob that killed his wife.
Inevitably, Little Mei and Big Luke team up to save each other, even as they're chased through New York by a multinational assortment of mobsters plus a sizable contingent of dirty cops.
Well, the plot first strains and then assassinates credulity, while Yakin's handling of the action/mayhem runs the gamut from the merely dull to what-the-hell's-going-on.
Love the kid though, and Statham too – it takes a star with quality to be so rock solid in a crumbling yarn.
